Zoho Software Developer

Job Purpose

The Zoho Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, customizing, integrating, testing, and maintaining solutions across Zoho applications.

The role requires a combination of technical development capability, business-process understanding, analytical thinking, and strong ownership of project delivery .

The successful candidate should be comfortable working directly with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Consultants, QA teams, and occasionally customers to convert business requirements into effective Zoho solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Zoho Development & Customization

• Develop and customize solutions using Zoho Creator and Deluge Script .
  

• Configure and customize Zoho CRM modules, fields, layouts, workflows, validation rules, approval processes, Blueprint, assignment rules, and automation.
  

• Develop custom functions using Deluge .
  

• Build custom applications and business processes using Zoho Creator .
  

• Develop custom pages, forms, reports, dashboards, and workflows.
  

• Create reusable and scalable development components.
  

• Develop custom widgets where required using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  

2. Zoho Application Integration

Work with and integrate applications including:

• Zoho CRM
  

• Zoho Creator
  

• Zoho Books
  

• Zoho People
  

• Zoho Recruit
  

• Zoho Projects
  

• Zoho Desk
  

• Zoho Analytics

3. API & Third-Party Integrations

• Build integrations between Zoho applications and external platforms.
  

• Work with REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, Webhooks, JSON and XML .
  

• Integrate Zoho with third-party systems such as:
  

  • Payment gateways
    

  • ERP systems
    

  • E-commerce platforms
    

  • Websites and mobile applications
    

• Troubleshoot API and integration failures.
  

• Ensure integration security, performance, and data integrity.
  

4. Business Requirement Implementation

• Review BRDs, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
  

• Understand business processes before beginning development.
  

• Translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
  

• Recommend technically efficient approaches rather than simply coding the requested solution.
  

• Identify technical limitations, dependencies, risks, and alternative approaches.
  

• Participate in solution-design discussions with Business Analysts and Consultants.
  

Development Standards

The developer will be expected to:

• Write clean, structured, maintainable code.
  

• Follow TSK GLOBAL development standards.
  

• Avoid unnecessary hard-coded values.
  

• Build scalable solutions suitable for future expansion.
  

• Apply proper naming conventions.
  

• Comment complex code where necessary.
  

• Maintain version and change documentation.
  

• Optimize Deluge scripts and API calls.
  

• Follow Zoho API limits and application best practices.
  

• Perform peer code review when required.
  

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Perform unit testing before submitting tasks to QA.
  

• Test:

  • Data validation
    

• Fix bugs identified during QA and UAT.
  

• Conduct root-cause analysis rather than applying temporary fixes.
  

• Minimize production defects and repeated bugs.
  

Deployment & Support

• Support UAT and customer acceptance testing.
  

• Assist with production deployment.
  

• Troubleshoot production issues.
  

• Analyze reported bugs and identify causes.
  

• Provide technical support for existing implementations.
  

• Maintain and enhance existing Zoho applications.
  

• Support migration of configuration between Sandbox, testing, and production environments where applicable.
  

Documentation Responsibilities

The Zoho Developer must maintain clear technical documentation including:

• Technical solution documentation
  

• Custom-function documentation
  

• Integration documentation
  

• API mapping
  

• Workflow logic
  

• Data mapping

• Deployment notes

Required Technical Skills
