Job Description
Job Summary:
The Freight Operation Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the end-to-end freight forwarding process, including import and export shipments by air, sea, and land. This role ensures timely and cost-effective logistics solutions while complying with international trade regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate and manage daily freight forwarding operations (import/export).
- Handle booking with carriers, shipping lines, airlines, and trucking companies.
- Prepare and review shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists.
- Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to clients and internal teams.
- Liaise with customs brokers, government agencies, and other third parties to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate data entry in logistics systems and maintain updated records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to shipment delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies.
- Provide high-level customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist in negotiating freight rates and ensuring competitive pricing.
- Maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and customers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in freight management systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of specific industry regulations relevant to the company's products.
- Experience with specific ERP or TMS systems.
- Certification in international trade or customs compliance.
