Role Overview – BIM Structural Engineer | Digital Structural Design & BIM Coordination

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented BIM Structural Engineer to support the delivery of complex building and infrastructure projects at SSE. In this role, you will contribute to the development and coordination of structural BIM models, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and seamless integration with multidisciplinary project teams.

You will work closely with structural engineers, architects, and MEP teams to produce high-quality BIM models and support digital project delivery aligned with international standards. Main Responsibilities – BIM Modelling, Coordination, and Digital Project Delivery

Develop and maintain detailed structural BIM models using industry-standard software such as Revit and related BIM tools .

Support the preparation and coordination of structural drawings, models, and documentation for building and infrastructure projects.

Collaborate with structural engineers to translate design concepts and calculations into accurate BIM models.

Coordinate structural models with architectural and MEP disciplines to ensure clash-free and buildable solutions.

Participate in BIM coordination meetings , assisting in identifying and resolving design conflicts through model reviews and clash detection.

Assist in maintaining BIM standards, templates, and project workflows in line with company procedures.

Prepare model-based documentation, including drawings, schedules, and quantities as required.

Support digital project delivery through proper model management, version control, and adherence to BIM execution plans.

Promote best practices in BIM implementation and digital collaboration across project teams.

What You Bring – BIM Skills, Structural Understanding & Team Collaboration

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.

Experience or strong familiarity with BIM modelling tools , particularly Revit .

Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and building construction systems .

Knowledge of BIM coordination processes and digital project workflows is desirable.

Familiarity with additional tools such as Navisworks, Tekla, or Dynamo is considered an advantage.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple project tasks.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams .

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality digital models and documentation.

Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with emerging BIM technologies and industry standards.
