Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialized mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Open Pit Production Leading Hand to oversee load-and-haul fleets, drive shift production targets, and maintain world-class safety protocols on the bench.
The Key Responsibilities
Shift Supervision: Lead daily bench operations, allocating heavy mobile equipment (excavators, face shovels, haul trucks, dozers) to optimize cycle times and meet shift tonnage targets.
Safety & Field Oversight: Enforce site Zero Harm standards across active pits, conduct daily toolbox meetings, audit pre-start checks, and manage workplace risk assessments (JHA/SLAM).
Grade Control & Pit Discipline: Coordinate directly with Pit Geologists and Drill & Blast Supervisors to ensure clean ore/waste separation, proper floor elevation, and ramp maintenance.
Operational Reporting: Monitor fleet performance via dispatch systems, conduct end-of-shift reconciliations, and execute thorough shift handovers.
The Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on open-pit hard-rock mining experience, with at least 2 years in a Leading Hand, Acting Supervisor, or Senior Operator role.
Fleet Familiarity: Extensive operational experience with large-scale open-pit fleets (CAT 785/789 haul trucks, 200t+ excavators, and track dozers).
Leadership & Safety: Demonstrated ability to lead diverse crews, maintain pit wall safety awareness, and enforce haulage road safety standards.
Certifications: Valid Mining Supervisor qualification/competency card and a valid heavy vehicle driver’s license.
