Junior Civil/Structural Quantity Takeoff Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Civil/Structural Quantity Takeoff Engineer with 0 to 2 years of experience to join our growing team. 

In this role, you will work closely with clients in the USA on a variety of construction projects, ranging in size and scope. You will be responsible for performing accurate quantity takeoffs, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects using industry-standard software.

• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and material estimations for construction projects of varying sizes and scopes.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify scope requirements.
• Utilize software tools such as PlanSwift , Bluebeam , and AutoCAD to prepare detailed takeoffs and estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables.
• Maintain organized documentation of takeoffs, estimates, and project-related communications.
• Continuously improve knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Adapt to different project requirements and deadlines in a remote work environment.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in quantity takeoff, cost estimation, or a related role.
• Excellence in understanding construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Proficiency in  AutoCAD is required.
• Basic understanding of  Bluebeam  and/or  PlanSwift  is a plus. (New hires will receive training on both software if selected)
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in  English .
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Prior experience or knowledge of working with clients in the USA is a plus.
• Knowledge of  Revit and/or AutoCAD Structural Detailing is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with US construction standards and practices.
• Ability to adapt to different project types (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Experience mentoring or training junior team members.
• Knowledge of construction estimating techniques and best practices.
