Presales Engineer (Passive Infrastructure)

Job Summary:
The Presales Specialist is a key technical resource responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. This role involves managing the bid process by responding to RFIs and RFPs, understanding customer requirements, and delivering compelling solution presentations and demonstrations. The Presales Specialist will build strong relationships with vendors and will work to expand their technical knowledge into new areas.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities (TDR):
Bid & Sales Support:
- Manage the sales bid process by effectively responding to RFIs (Request for Information) and RFPs (Request for Proposal).
- Understand customer requirements across various systems in passive infrastructure (e.g., structured cabling, containment, racks).
- Support the sales team by providing technical expertise, conducting solution presentations, and delivering product demonstrations to potential customers.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure the successful closure of the sales process.
Vendor & Market Management
- Build and maintain good relations with multiple vendors.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of vendors to access financial and technical information.
Knowledge Enhancement
- Proactively work on increasing technical knowledge in new systems beyond passive infrastructure, such as in Low Current (LC) systems.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and new product landscapes.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- 2-4 years of experience in a presales, sales support, or technical role.
- Strong understanding of passive infrastructure solutions (structured cabling, racks, pathways, etc.).
- Experience in responding to RFIs/RFPs and creating technical proposals.

- Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts to various audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with vendors and clients.
