Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing the performance, reliability, and longevity of our manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure. This position requires a strong blend of mechanical engineering expertise, hands-on troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a compliant and highly productive medical device manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for complex mechanical systems, production machinery, and utility infrastructure within a medical device manufacturing plant.

Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical failures in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and best practices to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurrent equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Design and implement modifications or upgrades to existing equipment to enhance performance, extend lifespan, or address obsolescence issues.

Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for critical mechanical components, ensuring availability while optimizing cost.

Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to ensure maintenance activities comply with medical device regulations ( ISO 13485) and internal quality standards.

Develop and deliver training to junior maintenance technicians on new equipment, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.

Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management, asset tracking, and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.

Oversee the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment, ensuring proper setup and integration into existing systems.

Maintain comprehensive maintenance records, technical documentation, and equipment history.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering .

Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in mechanical maintenance engineering, with significant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.

Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems, including but not limited to hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, pumps, valves, conveyors, and HVAC systems.

Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues effectively and efficiently.

Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

Familiarity with CMMS software ( SAP).

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferably having experience with the following machines :

Injection molding machines and molds
Pneumatic machines and assembly lines
Packaging machines soft and hard
Factory utilities including water chillers, air compressors, HVAC systems….etc
