Position Overview:

We are seeking a  Sr. Commercial Engineer to support our Commercial Department in managing financial and contractual performance across multiple projects. The role focuses on project-level commercial reporting, progress payment management, and proactive coordination with QS, Finance, and Project Controls teams to ensure full commercial visibility and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with project-based commercial/QS teams and internal departments like finance and tendering.
• Monitoring ongoing projects in terms of progress payment applications, certifications, invoicing and collections
• Monitoring costs and expenses and comparing against determined budgets to assure that all commercial activities are executed within the limits
• Implement Cost Control through EPR, issue regular cost control reports including variations from cost baselines and future forecast
• Assistance to technical departments and project teams in interpretation of specific contract clauses
• Monitoring ongoing contracts in terms of consuming Contractual Durations and Agreed Values
• Monthly Commercial Reporting of ongoing projects
• Regular updates of estimate progress and completion of projects and future forecasts
• Project based cash flow diagrams and monthly updates
• Directly reporting to the Commercial Director

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)
• Master's Degree in relevant fields is a plus
• Minimum 7 years of active experience in the Commercial fields of the Construction Industry.
• Hand-on experience in progress payment applications, Variation Order submissions, Earned Value and Gap Analyses
• Hand-on experience in Cost Control, cost breakdown structures and taking proactive mitigation strategies for Cost Overrun Forecasts
• Proficiency in drafting and amending contract clauses
• Real Hands-on Experience in the specifics of Construction Projects, such as, Contract administration, Variations, progress payments, advance payments and recoveries, retention, close-out and handover requirements, defects liability obligations, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Regional Experience: Prior practical experience within  MENA Region ,
• Commercial Systems Proficiency: Experience with ERP or cost management tools.
• Analytical Reporting: Capability to prepare performance dashboards or KPI reports using Excel or Power BI.
