Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.

 
The Role

The Remote Bogger safely operates underground load–haul–dump (LHD/bogger) equipment in manual and tele-remote modes to muck, load and transport blasted ore and waste to designated tips or haulage units, supporting shift production targets.

The role completes structured pre-start checks, maintains reliable radio communication, applies SGM/AGA critical controls, traffic rules and environmental requirements, and promptly reports hazards and defects to minimise unplanned downtime and operational risk.

Schedule: 20/10 Roaster ,Shift-based roster (day/night)

 
The Key Responsibilities
 

Remote bogging and loading execution: Carry out tele-remote and manual bogging cycles and load haulage units to achieve shift targets while preventing spillage and equipment damage.

Pre-start inspection and readiness: Complete pre-start checks, validate tele-remote station set-up and communications, and operate only when equipment is confirmed fit-for-purpose.

Traffic coordination and communication: Maintain continuous radio contact, apply underground traffic rules and coordinate movements with trucks and service crews.

Ground and workplace hazard awareness: Monitor brow stability, ground conditions, ventilation and visibility; stop work and escalate when critical hazards are identified.

Production reporting and handover: Record tonnes moved, delays and work locations accurately; participate in effective shift handovers and raise improvement ideas.

HSE compliance: Apply SGM/AGA critical controls, complete task risk assessments and implement dust, spill and waste controls to maintain compliance.

Incident and defect reporting: Report incidents, near misses and equipment defects immediately; maintain required inductions, authorisations and tickets.

 
The Requirements

 

High School Certificate (or equivalent).

Minimum 5 years’ experience operating underground LHD/bogger equipment in a production environment.

Valid underground driving permit/licence and UG Bogger/LHD operator ticket with site authorisation.

Tele-remote operator competency/authorisation (e.g., RCT); experience with tele-remote systems preferred.

Proven ability to load haulage units and bog headings/stockpiles safely and efficiently.

Working knowledge of underground traffic management rules and radio protocols.

Arabic: Required – Professional; English: Required – Working.

Fit for work in confined, low-visibility underground environments and shift roster operations.
